The Stewpot has always seen itself as the hub of a collaborative wheel—inviting other non-profit agencies to provide services at The Stewpot to enhance and expand community impact. As a result, homeless and at-risk individuals are able to access the services they need at one location. Under The Stewpot’s roof can be found multiple helping agencies.
Encore Park launches expanded collaborations with a combined operating budget of $50 million annually.
Parkland Hospital runs The Karen and Elgin Ware Stewpot Medical Clinic a barrier-free, comprehensive clinic for the homeless population.
A dental clinic, in partnership with Community Dental Care, has three fully equipped dental operations for primary care dental needs, as well as second phase dental care for dentures and partial prosthetics.
Metrocare, a mental health organization that cares for individuals and families struggling with mental illness, developmental disability, or severe emotional problems is also on site.
The Stewpot is working with Family Gateway to create supportive housing. Family Gateway Supportive Housing provides transitional housing and a comprehensive services to families with children in Dallas County experiencing homelessness.
Through our partnership with Springwire, The Stewpot offers resources and opportunities to Community Voice Mail participants through their personal voice mailbox and email account. Community Voice Mail connects people in crisis with the social services and support networks that surround them - expanding a community's capacity to care. By providing free access to tailored communication tools, Community Voice Mail restores a sense of hope and dignity, enabling people in transition to stabilize their lives.
Crossroads Community Services each year provides over 15,000 individuals clothing and nutritious groceries to those in need in the Dallas community. CCS provides low-income families with enough groceries to prepare 21 nutrient-and-calorie-balanced meals per person on a monthly basis. CCS also provides workshops regarding nutrition, meal planning, and obesity prevention to our clients. The Stewpot seeks to strengthen the role of Crossroads as it becomes an “urban hub” of the North Texas Food Bank.
