Join us Sunday, June 19th, for an afternoon of live music with the Stevie James Trio as part of our celebration of the 79th anniversary of the 1937 American Record Corporation recording sessions which included Robert Johnson. The concert will take place in the Amphitheater of the historic 508 Park Ave building in Downtown Dallas at 2:30 pm.
Encore Park is downtown's newest multi-venue arts and culture campus. It is an extension of First Presbyterian Church and The Stewpot who bought the decades-long dormant and deteriorating building and are in the process of refurbishing 508 Park.
Stevie James Trio
"The group plays a variety of blues-rock, ranging from BB King to Jimi Hendrix, as well as their own originals. Since forming in the middle of last year, they've built a solid reputation, already earning two nominations for the 2014 Dallas Observer Music Awards in the categories of Best Blues Act and Best Guitarist.
The band is led by the talented and charismatic Stephen Ketner on guitar and vocals. Ketner has a background in jazz, having played with the The Freeloaders for the past two years. The trio is also comprised by the reputable Merik Gilette on drums and the versatile Isaac "Crash" Burns on bass."
